Childhood Home - The Attic Bedroom

Transforming an unfinished attic space into a livable room requires careful planning and execution, and the first step we took was to consult with a structural engineer. This was crucial in determining how we would frame the space and ensure that it was structurally sound.

Once we had a plan in place, we began framing the space, then installed electrical wiring and insulation. We then added drywall and trim to give the space a finished look, followed by painting the walls and ceiling in a fresh coat of white.

To complete the transformation, we installed Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring, which not only looks great but is also durable and perfect for high-traffic areas. Finally, we added wall moldings and wall sconces to the window wall, which added a touch of elegance to the space, and installed a ceiling light fixture as a beautiful focal point.

Throughout the process, we paid close attention to every detail to ensure that the finished space was not only beautiful but also functional and structurally sound. The end result was a stunning bedroom that we’re thrilled with.

In addition to the bedroom, we also added a connecting bathroom and closet, which further increased the functionality and value of the space. Overall, transforming an unfinished attic space into a livable room requires a lot of work and attention to detail, but the results are well worth it!
